Marissa Fortuna, FNP

Family Practice

The choice to enter the field of medicine as a BSN in 2016 was deeply personal for Marissa. Her inspiration stemmed from her mother's courageous battle with terminal cancer. Witnessing the compassionate care given and the holistic approach advocated by her oncologist at Northwestern was highly influential. It ignited her passion for integrating conventional medical treatments with holistic practices like diet modification, massage, acupuncture, and counseling, all designed to enhance each patient’s quality of life.

Thanks to seven years on various nursing floors, Marissa's family practice experience allows her to care for a wide range of patients, from infants to the elderly. She takes pride in building meaningful relationships, understanding her patients’ unique stories, and providing comprehensive care. Her patient-centric approach focuses on providing clarity and confidence to her patients in their healthcare journeys.

Outside of her professional commitments, Marissa shares life with her husband, John. They are college football fans, culinary enthusiasts, avid travelers, and cherish time with close friends and church family.

I love empowering and teaching patients about their health! The medical system can feel overwhelming, but helping patients understand it gives them the confidence to move forward.
